Our beekeeping journey began with a simple purpose: to strengthen pollination across our orchards and vineyard. When we introduced our first hives to the ridge nearly three years ago, we did it to support the land—not to produce honey. The honey that comes later is a bonus; our main goal is creating a safe, thriving home for the bees that sustain this place.
As the apiary has matured, so has the way we plant and plan. We design our cover crops, wildflowers, and orchard understory plantings around the forage our bees rely on through the seasons—and even around the subtle flavors we hope to find in future honey. Every bloom supports both the hive and the soil below it.
We follow a pollinator-first philosophy on the farm. Every choice we make—what we plant, how we water, how we control pests—is shaped by the needs of our bees.
Beekeeping was the moment everything shifted. Once we saw how essential bees were to our orchard, vineyard, and wildflower habitats, we committed to going fully pesticide-free to protect their winged lives.

Bees pollinate our fruit trees, support flowering in the vineyard, and contribute to a healthier ecosystem across the ridge. Their presence increases biodiversity, strengthens our crops, and deepens our commitment to working with nature rather than against it.
The apiary is more than a collection of hives—it’s a partnership. Caring for bees has shaped the way we steward the land and inspired us to create a farm where pollinators and people can thrive together.
